Most common method of connecting any H-series Plantronics headset to a telephone:
In the majority of cases we recommend the M12 Vista which is compatible with most single- and multi-line corded phones. The M12 comes complete with a long, stretchy, coil cable with the QuickDisconnect device at one end to connect to your "H" series headset and a plastic modular plug at the other end to connect to your phone's handset port or dedicated headset port, if available. If you are looking for a cordless solution, the Plantronics CA10 also comes with a QD connector cord which works with any "H" series headset. (The CS10 complete cordless system comes with its own headset and does not feature QD.) Whether you choose a corded (M12 Vista) or cordless (CA10 or CS10) Plantronics solution, you will most likely connect the device through your phone's handset port. Installation is quick and simple and all necessary cords and batteries are included. AT&T, Lucent, Avaya Call Master V:
If you have Call Master V phones, you do not need to purchase an external adapter/amplifier such as an M12 Vista. You would simply purchase any H-series headset (using the blue buttons on the left side of this site such as "Over-the-Head," "Over-the-Ear," "Convertible" or "Behind-the-Neck") as well as an inexpensive M12 cord. If you have a fairly recent model of the Partner or Partner Plus phone, you probably have an auxiliary port on the bottom of your phone. It is a standard modular port marked "AUX" or "Auxiliary." If you are looking for a cordless headset solution, you should purchase the Avaya 10U100 complete system which simply plugs directly into your auxiliary port and acts as a cordless extension of your existing phone. (For older Partner sets without an auxiliary port, the Avaya 10U100 comes complete with a splitter you can use to connect your unit at your modular wall jack.) Please note that the cordless remote pack does not let you change lines or transfer calls while away from your desk. You would need to be back at your desk to push the necessary buttons on your Partner phone. If you are looking for a traditional corded headset solution, you will need the Plantronics SP02-H amplifier/adapter paired with any H-series headset found by clicking on the blue buttons on the left side of this site ("Over-the-Head," "Over-the-Ear," "Convertible" or "Behind-the-Neck"). What is meant by "QuickDisconnect"?
Plantronics QuickDisconnect (also called "QD") refers to the flat, black, plastic connector (photo at left) at the end of every corded Plantronics H-series headset and every Polaris P-series headset. H-series refers to headset model numbers beginning with the letter "H". The H-series headsets are all those displayed when you click on the blue menu buttons at the left side of this site entitled "Over-the-Head Headsets," "Over-the-Ear Headsets," "Convertible Headsets," and "Behind-the-Neck Headsets". Polaris P-series headsets were discontinued as of 8/15/08, however, the equivalent replacement solution (H-series with A10 cable) can still be found by clicking on on the blue menu button on the left side of this site entitled Polaris.
What are the benefits of QuickDisconnect?
The QD allows you to leave your desk while still wearing your headset. Simply pull apart the two QD pieces to leave your desk and snap them back together when you return. This eliminates the need to continually take your headset on and off and reposition it on your head or ear every time you need to leave your desk. The QD also acts as an "on hold" function. If you pull apart during a call, simply snap the QD pieces back together to resume your call.
Most common method of connecting any H-series Plantronics headset to a telephone:
The QD at the end of your headset cord must connect to a reciprocating QD in order to interface with your telephone (as explained further below). Many phones today are "headset-ready" and need only a connector cable rather than an external amplifier. To see if your phone is headset-ready, click on the Direct Connect Headsets tab on the left side of the screen. For phones that do not have a dedicated headset port, we recommend the Plantronics M22 Vista amplifier. The M22 is known as the "universal adapter" because of its widespread compatibility.
What about the Plantronics S12 complete corded headset system?
The Plantronics S12 complete corded headset system comes with everything you need in one convenient package. It connects to your phone in the same manner as described above and is compatible with the vast majority of single- or multi-line telephone sets. NOTE: Please be aware that the S12 does not have the QuickDisconnect feature.

Will a Plantronics wireless headset work on my phone?
If you are looking for a wireless headset solution rather than corded, the Plantronics CS540 (or any other model starting with "CS") is compatible with the vast majority of single- and multi-line corded desk telephones. It comes complete (no need for a connector cable or amp) and the CS540 comes with both a headband and an ear hook and can be worn in either configuration.
How easy is the wireless headset installation and set-up?
Installation is quick and simple! Whether you choose a corded direct connect headset, a headset and amplifier or a wireless (CS540, etc.) headset solution, you will simply plug the device into your phone's dedicated headset port, or into the handset receiver port. It's just that easy!
Will I need an HL10 handset lifter or EHS Cable (electronic hookswitch) along with my wireless headset?
If you want to be able to answer and end a call remotely from the headset from anywhere in your 350 ft range, then you will need either the HL10 automatic handset lifter or one of the many EHS cables (electronic hookswitch cables). Without one of these optional add-ons, you will have to be at your desk in order to either press a button on your telephone or physically lift up your handset off the hook manually (depending on your phone model) to answer the call. STEP 1: SYSTEM RESET
A.) Press both the talk button and the mute control button on the headset simultaneously for 10 seconds. When the talk indicator light on the headset blinks, release both buttons.
B.) Press the talk button again and then release.
C.) Disconnect the AC power adapter from the AC power outlet and leave it unplugged for 10 seconds, then reconnect.
The system reset operation is now complete. If your CS50 or CS55 problem has now been resolved, there’s no need to go on to Step 2 below. If your CS50/CS55 problem still exists, please continue to the Subscription Reset operation below.
STEP 2: SUBSCRIPTION RESET
A.) Place the headset into the base charging cradle and be sure that it is pressed down and seated all the way in the charger.
B.) Press and hold both of the talk volume fine tune buttons on the back of the base (the buttons marked “+” and “-“) simultaneously for a minimum of 10 seconds. The power indicator light on the base will flash red and you can release the buttons.
C.) Next, push and hold the mute control button on the headset for a minimum of 5 seconds. The talk indicator on the headset will light up green.
Successful re-subscription is indicated when the power indicator on the base is fully illuminated and the talk indicator light on the headset is off.
D.) To complete the process, disconnect the AC power adapter from the AC power outlet and leave it unplugged for 10 seconds, then reconnect.

To determine if your corded desk telephone is capable of using an Electronic Hookswitch (EHS) with a Plantronics wireless headset for remote call answer/end functionality, please see the chart below.
Search for your telephone model in the far left column. If your Plantronics wireless headset is one of the older models listed in the middle column, then choose the corresponding electronic hookswitch (EHS cable) in that column. If your wireless headset is one of the newer CS500-series or Savi models, then choose the corresponding EHS cable in the far right column.

Plantronics W745 wireless headset works with your office desk phone, your computer (via USB cable) and your bluetooth-enabled cell phone (while within range of base). Easily switch between devices. The W745 is identical to the W740 except that the W745 has a sidecar to the base which enables the user to charge a spare battery for "hot swap," generally for double-shift operations. (Please note that a second battery is included.)

Plantronics SHR-2083-01 dual-ear (binaural) headset with circumaural ear cushions that completely surround the ear for maximum performance in noisy environments. Can be used in a noisy office, in aviation/air traffic control applications. The Plantronics SHR2083-01 is even tough enough for use on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange and on aircraft carriers.
